International Business Times writes about a deal between Cohda (which I wrote about a while ago) and "Safe Intelligent Mobility Test Field Germany" (simTD) to use the Cohda radio technology.
SimTD,a four year large-scale trial for cooperative systems that started in 2008, will be using the Cohda radios to provide alert functions to drivers. In particular Cohda markets its radios as being significantly better than the competitors in non-line-of-sight situations such as at intersections with buildings obscuring line-of-sight.
It would be really interesting to do a comparison with the units we have (and the problems we've seen in urban environments) and the Cohda systems, wonder if they'd be willing to lend out some review-units ;)
